From the Observer Rising Star of Food 2017 comes the Fresh Taste of Nigerian Food through the cooking of Lope Ariyo.
Come and meet Lopè in the Food Studio, hear about her incredible food journey and taste some of the delicious dishes from her newly launched cookbook, Hibiscus. It is filled with fresh fuss-free meals, drawing from a fusion of West African cooking and modern flavours. Lope experiments with new recipes such as Hibiscus Chicken and Suya Lamb Curry or makes a old recipes with a twist, Grapefruit and Guava Cheesecake
Lope is 23 and recently graduated from Loughborough University, where she read Mathematics. In her spare time she wrote and filmed for her food blog, which led her to enter and win the Red Magazine and Harper Collins Cookery Competition in 2016., where she wowed the judges with her incredible dishes and vibrant flavours.
The Magazine Red hailed African cooking as the newest trend to hit the UK food scene. And the Observer claimed that Lope Ariyo could do the same thing as Sabrina Ghayour did for Persian Food and bring it to the fore of our everyday eating.
